Believe.
I was working on my athlete training plans this afternoon. It got me thinking about being a coach. How every athlete needs me to be something different. How I have to figure out what that is and how to become what that one athlete needs. I have so much to be proud of. So much to want to change. I want so much for you, my athlete, to be all that you can be. I want so much to be what you need and to know what that means. These are all thoughts from me…a coach, an athlete, a believer in you, me, and us. This is not new. However, it is a bond that is difficult to find outside of athletics. There is a nervous excitement of shared anticipation for the preparation of THE RACE DAY ahead. I view motivation as a joint effort between, you, the athlete and, me, the coach. I hope to inspire, and prepare you for greatness. You are a true champion. I am in awe, I am star stuck, and I applaud you. Progression fulfills the human soul as we challenge ourselves in order to better ourselves. You will challenge yourself this week, and every week leading up to THE RACE DAY. You will question your ability. You will be up. You will be down. You will look to me for guidance, energy, and greatness. I want to shout it to you-I will give it to you! I will give you all that I have! You will give back. Motivated, engaged and curious athletes can push a coach to become better. My best is what you deserve and need. For, behind every great athlete is a coach, an extraordinary leader who teaches, inspires and leads athletes to greatness. I believe. I believe in you. I believe in me.
